A Castle Made of Glass

"Okay," Dahlia breathed, already getting used to the flow of the 'fight'. There was a give and take in it, and Leo was a good teacher. She was absorbing the blocks, already watching to see how he blocked and use that to her advantage, but just as she was getting used to it Leo would change it up on her.

Leo
He saw her coming and totally stepped out of the way."Okay Princess, it is time for a break." he said, taking off his helmet with a smirk on his face. "The ultimate Block, is to avoid all together. Makes a counter attack much easier and gives you more of a chance to win."

Dahlia removed the helmet from her head and shook the stray hairs from out of her eyes. "Very nice. I'll remember that for next time," she told him, sitting down on one of the marble benches, and stroked a flower with her fingers softly.

Leo
He smiled at her. "when this break is over, I want to see what you are really capable of doing." he told her. "I am not blind, I can see when people hold back." he said, taking a seat on a bench across from her

Dahlia's ears turned red and she made sure Bear and her father were no longer there to possibly hear. "It's a little weird," she admitted, "and hard to explain, but maybe later I can explain it to you." She looked up at the blue sky and inhaled the salty air. "Or show you, depending on where we are."

Leo
he nodded. "As you wish." he said. "Do you have the same schedule every day?" he asked "And...do you always get up at the butt-crack of dawn?"

"For the most part it is the same, and that does mean I wake up at dawn," she said with a grin. "You will get used to the time sooner or later, and we go to sleep early too. But the day is tiring, and so it is easy to fall asleep," Dahlia added.

Leo
he nodded. "What did you do when your reading is done before today?" he asked curiously.

"Come out into the courtyard and garden," she said wistfully, smiling. "I love flowers." To prove her point, Dahlia had the blooms behind her grow longer, the stems pouring over the sides of the above ground gardens and wrap themselves around the bench's legs.

Leo
he looked on, watching, smiling. "That is so cool." he said. "I wish I had an ability that could do something like that...mine's mostly good for destruction." he said

Dahlia's head tilted to the side. "Thank you, but what is your ability?" she asked, now curious.

Leo
"I am fire." he said. he held out his hand and let a fireball grow. "Yes it can be used as a heat source witch can help life, but how often is that needed?" he said. "It's usually a weapon used to hurt people or destroy things." he said

Dahlia watched the fire in his palm. She didn't know what to tell him, because normally fire was used for destruction. She did know that farmers would burn their fields after so many years to increase the nutrients in the soil, but she wasn't sure how that would help Leo.
"I don't know," Dahlia murmured, "I think it's a rather neat ability to have."

Leo
"It can be quite amusing." he smiled, and from the one ball he made three and started to juggle them. "Still dangerous though." he said.

Dahlia grinned, watching him. Leo was right when he said it was amusing, but as Dahlia watched she heard the door open and she turned to see Bear. Her brother's arms were folded over his chest and he was looking at Leo with curious eyes. He didn't appear to be judging him, but there was a flicker of something Dahlia couldn't place, as if he was contemplating Leo.

Leo
The fire faded into nothing when he saw the prince. he cleared his throat a tad, a little embaresed he got caught playing around instead of doing what he was suposed to be, teaching the princess. he stood and gave the apropriate bow/whatever sign of respect. "Is there something I can do for you?" he asked, wondering why the man was out here looking at him like that.

"No," mused Bear, still looking at Leo with the same expression as before. It was growing odd, how her brother gazed at him like that. He didn't even look irritated that Leo wasn't training her, more nonchalant and calm in an eerie sort of way. He almost seemed . . . sad.
"Bear?" Dahlia asked softly, her head to the side. Was he okay?
Her brother's eyes moved to her, then he turned and left the courtyard, leaving a heavy fog, and Dahlia frowned. "What on Earth was that?"

Leo
he looked on, confused himself. "I have no idea princess." he said. "But it's about time we continue your studies." he said heading back to where he had stood as she attacked him. "Come." he said putting his face guard back on. "Come at me." he said

Dahlia pulled the face guard back over her head and took the sword. "No holding back, right?" she asked, inhaling deeply to calm her racing heart. Then she lunged, perfectly poised.

Leo
he blocked. "Very nice." he said. "If you show me what you you have been keeping back I might even give you a little sparring session." he said.

"Well, I'll keep that in mind," Dahlia told him, catching his block and going back into ready position. "But I hadn't known that, had I?" she added with a hint of humor.

Leo
he chuckled a bit, and kept his guard up she was extremely good...some how... So he had to stay alert in-order to block her attacks.

She continued to practice what Leo had taught her, but unlike before she was still going at it the way she would have preferred to, with all the precise blows and blocks of someone who had been doing this form of swordplay for years. At times Dahlia thought of her ability as unfair, like now. Leo had been training for years, whereas she only had to learn the basics.

Leo
after a while of this he changed his stance. "Since you're so good lets see how you are in a fight." he said. "Ready?"

Dahlia fell into the stance Leo was in and nodded. "Ready," she told him, watching him closely.
